Many people are familiar with Peter Menzel’s Material World and Hungry Planet photo collections. Students (and adults) are fascinated to see what homes, furniture, and food look like in other parts of the world.

A few weeks ago, the idea of seeing what classrooms look like around the world came up in #worldgeochat. I quickly forgot about it until a student said today, “It would be so cool to MysterySkype with a class in another country so we can see what their classroom looks like.”

So, let’s make this happen. Wherever you are in the world, take a picture of your classroom. It can be with or without students (or maybe you want to share both). Tweet the picture out with the name of the school, your city/town/village, and country. Include the hashtag #shareaclassroompic.

Spread the word – tweet, retweet, then retweet some more so that teachers around the world can share their classroom, and students can see that while there are some differences, there are a lot of things that bring us together!
