Like so many teachers, my career was inspired by a teacher I had.  For the past 17 years, I have hoped that I inspired someone to join this profession. I teach 7th grade social science & science (though I’ve taught language arts & math in the previous few years). I’ve been lucky enough to be a team leader, department coordinator, and member of a variety of social science curriculum teams.

While I love my job, it is nothing in comparison to my real love, my family. My wife, Maureen, is a 2nd grade teacher, and while our days are vastly different, we understand the ups and downs of teaching that we bring home. I have three awesome kids, Oliver (who will be president someday), Ulla (who will most likely be in the next generation of teachers), and Inny (who will either be a stand-up comedian or an ‘animal scientist;).

I love music, soccer, history, and doing laundry.

I hate running, baseball, poetry, and putting away laundry.
